Networking with other therapists really does work

The power of reciprocating

We're both in the habit of providing free or reciprocal therapy to our fellow therapists at the centres where we work.  This serves a number of purposes:

 It generates goodwill

 It enables you to get to know the other therapists better

 It means they can experience first hand the therapy you practise

 They can tell others about your therapy and how brilliant you are

Yes it costs; in terms of lost client hours, but it pays massive dividends in the number of referrals you will get from those therapists.

In the last two weeks Debs has had five referrals from other therapists.

So, if you haven't already tapped into this free publicity mechanism, resolve to make a start.  If you don't work at a therapy centre, get in touch with other therapists around you.

Ideas for networking

So, if you haven't already tapped into this free publicity mechanism, resolve to make a start.  If you don't work at a therapy centre, get in touch with other therapists around you.

Here's how to get the best from networking with other therapists:

 Liaise with therapists in a different discipline to your own, eg if you're a Massage therapist, team up with an Acupuncturist or Psychotherapist

 Offer reciprocal therapy - that way you'll benefit from their expertise

 If that's not possible, offer to see them for free - it really is worth it

 Give them a supply of your business cards

 Take a supply of their business cards

 Remember to thank them for each referral

 Remember to make referrals to them when appropriate

Take Action: Make contact with other therapists.

There's loads more on this topic on our DVD 'Do You Want More Clients?', so pop across to our Products page and take a look.
