Your Marketing Health Check
It’s useful to make a diary note to carry out a health check every 6 months or so. No, we don’t mean on your own health – although of course, it’s vital to make sure you are taking good care of yourself. We actually mean do a Marketing Health Check. With so much effort put into creating your website, adverts and leaflets, it can be easy to forget that all of these marketing streams need to be maintained. It’s surprising how quickly the text that you carefully crafted to describe your qualifications and skills becomes out of date, as you add to your knowledge and experience.
5 things you need to check
Take a look at your website with a fresh pair of eyes. Do you clearly tell people what they need to know: what they can expect from you, what it will cost, where you work, eg town, area?
Check your listing on your professional organisation's website - are your details up to date? Check all your directory listings.
How well are your adverts performing? How much have they cost and how many clients have they provided? Consider dropping poor performers, or revamping the content.
Is all your promotional material consistent - same corporate colour, logo, typeface, photo etc?
If you have supplies of your leaflets or business cards at other locations, check the stock levels regularly and replace dog-eared material.
