Avoid a Huge Fine

Do you have copyright on the photo's you use?

Do make sure you have copyright for the images you use on your promotional material, especially your website.

We know of yet another therapist who has been slapped with a BIG bill (over £1,000) because she used copyrighted images on her website.

She hadn't built her website and thought the images the designer provided would be fine, but that wasn't the case.  You have responsibility for the images on your site even if you didn't build it so make sure you have the invoices or your website builder can provide them.

These fines can be for £50,000, (Nic personally knows 3 people who've had fines from a well-known photo library for this amount) so it's worth taking 15 minutes to check out the pics are yours.

Photo Libraries

If in doubt go to a photo library like 123Reg, iStock, Shutterstock or similar and buy new photographs.

It may only cost between £35-£75 to populate your whole website with new images if you wanted to do this.

You can, of course, use photos you have taken yourself, or that you have had a professional photographer take for you.
