Try Something New
Dare to be different
We're both Solution Focused Hypnotherapists and one of the basic tenets of Solution Focused Brief Therapy is: If you do what you've always done, you get what you've always got.
We see cases of therapists struggling to build their practices and when we look into their activity, we sometimes find they're doing more of the same and yet expecting a different outcome.
Trying something new needn't be scary. It might mean issuing a press release for the first time, or joining a relevant LinkedIn discussion forum in your area, or volunteering at your local hospice.
Review where you practice
It might mean reviewing where you practice from - does it do you justice? Is the decor fresh and uplifting or tired and jaded? Does it radiate positive energy, calm tranquillity and professionalism, or is the whole atmosphere belligerent or depressing? It's worth taking a step back every now and again and questioning whether the things you've always done are still working for you.
Tap into the energy from colleagues
When was the last time you attended a conference, training course or other CPD event? The value of these events lies not only in what you'll learn, but also in the energy and buzz from being in the presence of other like-minded people. You'll gain CPD points and the cost is tax-deductible - bonus!
If you're looking to minimise costs, see what therapists' support groups are in your area (your professional organisation may have a list) or set up an impromptu get together at your local coffee shop. You'll be amazed at how uplifted you'll feel afterwards.
Take action to try something new.
