Come and Meet Us in London

Wellness Seminar at Olympia Beauty 2018

We were absolutely delighted to have been invited to run a one-hour CPD event at the Olympia Beauty 2018 event in London later this year.  The CPD session is part of the Wellness Seminar programme and, as you would expect, we will be sharing our marketing expertise with some of the 18,000 attendees who go to this lively show.

Olympia Beauty is autumn's biggest beauty event for professionals, held at Olympia in London.  Attendees include Therapists, Salon and Spa Owners, and we have been specifically invited because our courses appeal to practitioners from all therapy disciplines.

Our event covers Do You Want More Clients - Marketing Skills for Therapists and runs on Monday 1 September 11.45am to 12.45pm.  We will be packing a huge number of golden marketing nuggets into this one hour session, so make sure you bring pen and paper as we throw the energy out there!

We will also be having some stand space, so we’ll have the opportunity to interact with the attendees throughout the show days.

Memory Lane

For us it means returning to a familiar part of London.  We launched our Do You Want More Clients DVD some years ago at the CamExpo exhibition just around the corner at Earls Court, which was a similarly amazing event for therapists.

The invitation for this year’s event came as a direct result of getting chatting to the exhibitor on the next stand – he remembered us and thought we would be ideal to dovetail into the theme of this year’s Wellness Seminar programme.

As we always say, you never know who you may be talking to, especially at events such as this, and we’ve lost track of the amazing connections we’ve made from trade shows and conferences, both with therapists and with therapy-related companies.

Come and Meet Us

So, if you are in or near London on 30 September / 1 October, do come along to Olympia and meet us on the stand.

Mental Health Awareness Week 14-20 May 2018

Tap into Mental Health Awareness Week 14-20 May 2018

Regular readers will know that we highly recommend tapping into national awareness events to use as a hook to promote your own therapy business.  In fact you can be quite creative, you could offer:

·         Weight management sessions to coincide with UK Sausage Week

·         Massage for weary muscles following Cycle to Work day

·         Overcome a fear of earthworms for the Festival of British Archaeology

For some events the link is much more obvious and we wanted to alert you to Mental Health Awareness Week 14 – 20th May.  The week is organised by The Mental Health Foundation, a UK charity that aims to find and address the sources of mental health problems.  The theme for this year is Stress.

Creating relevant publicity should be relatively straightforward if you practise a talking therapy such as counselling, psychotherapy or hypnotherapy.  For those involved with physical therapies, such as reflexology, massage, Bowen therapy, etc, there is plenty of scope for linking the benefits of your therapy with improving mental health and reducing stress, eg :

·         Activating the parasympathetic nervous system, thus calming down the fight-flight tendencies of the sympathetic nervous system

·         Exploring the mind-body connection

·         Simply taking time out for you

Here are a few ideas to help you make the most of Mental Health Awareness Week:

·         Create a blog post, Facebook posts, Tweets in preparation for the week

·         Set up an event offering a discount for sessions booked during the week

·         Consider joining forces with other therapists to make it a bigger event

·         Book a combined advertorial with other therapists in your local newspaper to share the costs

·         Write a press release about your offer or event and ping it out to online and offline publications

For advice about how to write a press release, take a look at our knowledgebase:

www.therapistsmarketingsolutions.co.uk/knowledgebase/marketing-5-pr-an-introduction

In you do decide to run an event, you can register it on the Mental Health Foundation’s website:

This is a marvellous opportunity to tap into a really important issue, so remember to Take Action to make the most of it.

Oh, and let us know how you get on.
